Razer chroma integration nanoleaf
Hi,
Why the razer chroma integration controls everything except the nanoleaf panels? How should I fix that?

Nanoleaf is not from razer and have their own SDK.
If you would like it to be supported, head over to the suggestions tab.

but it is supported in razer chroma as integration so it should light up or not?

Generally, Razer Synapse should take care of this as we have no direct control over individual devices. As far as I know, any home lighting systems should be compatible with the way we have implemented Razer Chroma.

Unfortunately we don't have any Nanoleafs for testing, can you check your Razer Synapse if there may be a setting which disables this? I will also reach out to Razer about this and ask them directly.

Also, make sure you have the latest Razer Synapse version installed, just to be sure, can you try and uninstall Razer Synapse and then download the latest version here:

https://www.razer.com/synapse-3

Especially version 2 may be buggy / outdated and I am not sure if it auto-updates to version 3.

I have the latest version of synapse 3 and in the nanoleaf control panel it says that wallpaper engine is controlling the device lighting but the nanoleaf panels are turned off. Here is a screen shot https://i.imgur.com/yZPtAb7.png. What should I do? Should I message razer about this issue?

Thanks for the screenshot! Like Tim explained, Wallpaper Engine doesn't actually 'know' what particular devices you have, but it does send LED colors for all device 'types'.

Do you know what type of device the Nanoleaf is? I can only imagine that it is a generic 'Chroma link device', does it say that anywhere?

Since everything else works for you, it's likely an issue with the Nanoleaf and not Wallpaper Engine, so we need Razer or Nanoleaf to check this out. For now you could disable the Chroma integration in the plugin options completely, since we're still testing it and it was actually supposed to be disabled by default (though accidentally it's enabled already).

I don't know what type of device it is but it is not chroma connect device https://i.imgur.com/mHOQKOf.png and I like this integration so I will help you if I can

Thanks, yeah, that's interesting. I wonder how they work then. There is no 'Nanoleaf' device type in the SDK, only the link device (which are probably in the Chroma connect tab, yeah).

How many LED colors does the Nanoleaf allow you to configure in Razer Synapse? Can you make a screenshot of the editor or where the single LEDs are shown in Razer Synpase?

I have been considering to get Nanoleaf lights myself for a while so this might be a good opportunity. But we will likely not be able to figure this out right now and have to check it out together with Razer in January.

Small update: I have Philips Hue and it behaves the same way, I think I found the issue in the Chroma SDK and there seems to be a workaround. However it is only be possible to send a single color to the devices, the option to send multiple colors doesn't seem to work at all and that was the problem.

I can configure what ever color I want. It would be super if you would be abble to ressolve this issue somehow with razer. Here are the screenshots https://i.imgur.com/F4n0VFG.png https://i.imgur.com/imxfZTS.png

Can you check out the beta: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/350544272219415004/ ?

The beta works with hue now, although it only supports setting a single color. But it seems that nanoleaf still may not work, it doesn't support any of the SDK features yet. At least it seems that it's still supposed to be a 'link device' in the SDK so we'll have it easier to ask Razer to look into this.

I tried the beta and it doesn't work. It is just turned off.

Thanks. Yeah it looks like Nanoleaf just doesn't support the SDK at all (in Synapse 3?). We will inform Razer about this and ask them to fix it, since it's pretty bad that both Hue and Nanoleaf will just turn off when the SDK is used to send LED colors.
horviskoadrianko Dec 23, 2019 @ 11:16am
It started working now. It displays just one color but it works
Biohazard  [developer] Jan 2, 2020 @ 7:53am
Yeah I did change it earlier to use the single color 'effect' because that is also the only one that works with Philips Hue. I guess that's better than not having anything, but we will still ask Razer about it and maybe they can fix the multi color effect for both products.
