Wallpaper engine not working on one monitor
Okay, so first off, I had made a post a while back but I just started classes and this was obviously a fairly low priority.. I had an issue setting up a pastebin account, which I know was requested of me (for some reason it wouldn't send me an email to verify my email address... took like a week of work to get that fixed..), but I can't find my old post so recreating.

I've been using wallpaper engine for a while, and it had been working well, but about a month ago it stopped loading on one of my two monitors. Attempting to load a wallpaper on it bring up the error message
"Wallpaper cannot be applied.
It looks like wallpaper engine cannot apply the wallpaper because it cannot properly identify your monitors.

Try restarting wallpaper engine completely. If you frequently have this issue, try disabling the high priority auto start option and use the normal auto start instead. Additionally try setting the monitor identification option to Layout in the General tab of the settings to avoid this issue."

None of that fixed it (and setting the monitor identification option to layout made it so neither monitor recieved wallpapers)

I just finished doing a complete reinstall, and am still getting the error, but I can't recall which error log I should be pulling up, but I made the two I figured are most likely
which can be found here:
https://pastebin.com/3gvYA8zY (debug.log)
https://pastebin.com/kPcFHPfp (log.txt)

Never used pastebin before, so I'm assuming that's how I should be sharing this...

As for the other log files I found (everything below this may be unimportant idk), in the folder SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine I've found a log.txt, which seems to have been created a week ago.. going into /bin from there I found debug.log, diagnosticsloader32.txt, uilog.txt, weblog.txt, going back to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine then into ui\wpcache I can see that there are logs for both monitors (0 and 1, which I assume 0 stands for monitor one and 1 is monitor 2?) in monitor 0 I can go to the folder base or user, going into base appears to have a log of some kind as well (file path being SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\ui\wpcache\monitor0\base). Going into monitor 1 only has the option for base, and has a log (file path SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\ui\wpcache\monitor1\base).

I'm getting the same issue. It started when I installed a 3080Ti. Also Wallpaper Engine won't let me run it on multiple computers all of a sudden

Man, I wish my problems started after getting a 3080ti, since that'd mean I got a 3080ti lol, congrats on that! xD I'm on a 1080 6gb, idk if that would have any relevance or not, but I haven't had any hardware changes before or since the issue occurred >.>

ofc, windows may or may not have had an update, but if that caused something to break I'd imagine it'd be much more widespread....

well, testing a completely new wallpaper on it worked, actually. Apparently the saved groups is what's broken... gonna see if I can resave those groups, I guess?

So I re-saved all my old profiles, and now the error message is still popping up when loading one but so far, at least, it's still pulling up wallpaper for both monitors...

Thanks for the congrats but the thing has been a pain in my ass ever since I got it. I'm finally dialing it in after two weeks of hell. Still a lot of issues with games and with WE. I'm so sick of issues that I just uninstalled WE for now. I also found a new STEAM folder with just WE in it so IDKWTF is going on. I'm too tired to deal with it now. I'll attack the problem tomorrow when I'm fresh.

First of all, jaystein, I have replied to your other post and let you know how to fix your issues there. If you have any more issues, please reply in your own thread and I will help you, it's extremely rare that two users actually have the same issue even if it might seem like that at a first glance. It's very hard and messy to handle two people in one thread, so please just reply in your own topic and we'll help you out there.

If you continue to have issues now, please run our scan tool and share the log file it creates as explained on the following, the log files you shared are mostly irrelevant here I am afraid but we'll take a look at the scan tool log:

Thank for the reply! I figured those logs would be, I was thinking there was *something* else I was supposed to do, but for some reason I just couldn't find my old post to see what it was! If the problem continues, hopefully I'll be able to find this post (idk if maybe I put my other post in the discord, or on reddit, or on your forum or who knows...) so I'll be sure and do that! :D
