Does Wallpaper Engine use at lot of GPU or VRAM ? Or both ?
Hey, i have a 3090 and i wonder if the usage of high quality scene-wallpapers is depending more on GPU or VRAM ? because if its VRAM it shouldnt be a problem to run it while gaming but if it uses a lot of the GPU performance it would be a waste of fps gain right ?

It depends on the specific wallpaper and the target framerate. I don't think you'll have issues with your GPU though, and you can setup Wallpaper Engine to stop running when you are in-game.

Okay i remember i had severe fps issues when playing Doom Eternal like dropping from 120 to 40 fps or so but im pretty sure that was when i was using my 1080 or 2080 so ill just give it a try for now. Thanks for the quick answer!

That looks normal for your circumstances, using high FPS (60) is going to be expensive which is why the program shows a warning icon when it's set high like that. Even a blank screen at high FPS will notably increase usage, especially with 3 monitors, but that wallpaper is also pretty expensive on top of that.

You can leave it like this and set the "other application fullscreen" performance option to stop or "pause all monitors" to ensure that there is zero impact on game performance. If you want to keep it running but reduce the performance cost as much as possible, use "pause per monitor" instead but also reduce the FPS to 25 max ideally.

Also, since you are using the same wallpaper on all monitors, you should generally have best performance by using the clone layout so make sure to use that if you aren't already.

This is also a 4k wallpaper, but you don't have a 4k screen. You can change "texture resolution" to "high performance" and it should improve performance notably while only reducing the quality a little. This is a brand new system though we added specifically for 4k wallpapers and it may not work on every wallpaper yet.
