You haven't linked the wallpaper but if it is what I think it is then it has quite high contrast elements with strong colors on a dark background, which is exactly what you wouldn't want on a monitor that has this problem. You can always use the color options in Wallpaper Engine to reduce the brightness and contrast too though and keep using the same wallpaper.
However your monitor has an IPS panel and IPS panels should not have this issue at all no matter what it displays. There is probably another issue with your monitor, cable or GPU since what you describe is not even typical for "screen burn-in" on OLED panels.
It is not Wallpaper Engine related and doesn't happen with everything.
A while ago, I was playing Terraria @ 60fps and wondered how it'll feel playing with 165fps. This was the first time I noticed the lines and thought it was a faulty panel where the image burns into the display. I then let it settle and make sure the lines were gone before putting it back @ 60fps. The lines didn't come up again.
This happened to a couple of games where the screen has a semi-static image when playing at the full resolution/refresh rate.
Fast-forwarding to today. I was playing Minecraft at the default 60fps. Wanted to play at the full refresh rate. The lines only showed up when I stopped playing for today and got on the multiplayer screen for only 3 seconds.
I think this has indeed something to do with high contrast on a darker background + a too high refresh rate.
We should blame the panel for this issue...
I think it had something to do with the software/driver of the card mixed with this specific monitor.
Hello mate and sorry for the post revive.
I'd just like to tell out that I have the same screen and same kind of problems. I think the problem goes away if Limited RGB is selected instead of Full RGB, but it really lower the graphic quality....
Edit: I'm on a 3060 Ti btw
Yes. After quite some research I've found out it's specific to some GB2770QSU screens. Unfortunately, no one found a true solution except some workarounds that impact the image quality like I said on previous post.
