[SOLVED] Wallpaper Engine detected as malware by antivirus?
I just turned on my pc just like the other day but Wallpaper Engine didn't start, and it turned out that Kaspersky detected Wallpaper Engine as worm and it deleted it.
Here's the proof : https://imgur.com/a/WQYa8vw

It didnt happened ever before, but today. I don't think both Kaspersky and Wallpaper Engine were updated. I wonder if this happens to anybody else and if there is a solution other than just adding an exclution.

This is frequently a problem with anything because anti-virus companies build it like this on purpose.

Wallpaper Engine is fully certified and that's the best we can do, it's frankly a very difficult and tiresome process to even get this far and as you can see it's still not a 100% protection against false attacks like this.

Please add an exception and if your anti-virus software has a button to complain about/report such malfunction please also use that so hopefully they improve their detection.

Over the years I've seen all over Steam this issue with games or anything in general. The more your antivirus freaks out, the more people think its actually doing something and has a meaningful purpose.

Keep your windows upto date Inc defender, and you won't need anything else.

I have never in my life found a program on steam that was a virus. However, some wallpapers can contain malware, especially when they open 3rd party links. The official ones are fine tho

Well, I don't have any wallpapers that use 3rd party links, except the official ones.

No, I didn't even remove it using Kaspersky, it just removed it on its own.
