Importing Materials (3D Scene Editor)
Hello, firstly i'd like to say i've read through any other posts with material/texture import problems and I still can't figure this out, I have moved all textures to be used on/with a .obj and imported multiple different things and they still all come out with no texture on them, just the base model (which imports fine). I have tried moving any textures that were split apart into different folders and moved everything into the same folder still with no luck. I have also tried different shader import options, generic, lightmapped, etc. If someone could provide a clear explanation as how to import textures/materials with the object that would be great.

Hey,
are you also supplying an .mtl file along with the .obj (the .mtl file contains the material names)? Other than that, there might be an issue with the material names somewhere. Could you possibly share the files here or send them to me at wallpaperengine@gmail.com ? Since it's an .obj file, you can also open the obj and mtl file with a text editor to check if they seem valid and aren't just missing the texture names.

Cheers

I'll check on that and get back to you.

Ok so it seems the one object that did have a .mtl associated with it came out better after imported. Other .obj's either don't have a .mtl associated with them at all and only have an image layout or .tga's. Is there any way I could apply those layout images or tga's to the model?
I'm grabbing models off tf3dm (website) and most objects don't seem to come with a .mtl associated.

Those models are basically incomplete then, do they offer them in different formats?

Sometimes they upload them in a bunch of formats and some of those are just broken.

They are typically .obj's or .fbx's
