That's happened to me, too-- After a recent update (well, a month or two ago) all the Workshop files I downloaded (ten gigs' worth, by this point) were.. there, but not there. The files and things were on the hard disc, but Wallpaper Engine didn't recognize them, and wanted to download all of them again (with my crappy connection, this is an option of last resort). It's like whatever file was used to maintain the catalog of downloads got trashed, and refuses to scan and confirm what's already present.

This is Steam's fault. Wallpaper Engine only gets this info from Steam, it doesn't download anything, it doesn't manage anything. Steam sends a list of wallpapers to it and whether they are installed or not. And Steam is _broken_.

The only work around is to just not rely on Steam. You can find the downloaded files here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\431960

Just move them somewhere else and then drag & drop them into Wallpaper Engine. Then you can unsubscribe them and forget about Steam re-downloading them for no reason.

thank you ! I've copied the downloaded files, now I'm in the Wallpaper Engine folder, where exactly should I place them ? and do I have to delete the files from that path or just left them there ?

I made a new thread for the FAQ: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/2595630410191627299/ does that help explain it better?

Open Wallpaper Engine, there are 4 buttons on the bottom left, click "Open From File" and select the wallpaper.

If you take the mp4 file, you can drag it into the browser.

Are you using auto start with high-priority? You might have to restart it then I'm afraid or disable high-priority (this is just a guess though).
