Video Tearing .
Soo after 1h of watching all topics with video tearing i have still no idea ...
I'm on my laptop , acer predator 17 , gtz 970m , i7 6700hq , 16gb ram , hdd and ssd , os and wallpaper engine is on ssd .
In nvidia control pannel the app is by default on integrated graphics , i cannot change it to dedicated , it's grayed so the problem to put it on the integrated graphics ... i don't have it .
Any ideas ?

PS : All programs that can interfere with it are closed .

You probably read & done this already then, but I'd still like to ask: have you updated the Intel + Nvidia graphics drivers? Did you restart after installing?

I guess you could try to delete the whole Wallpaper Engine profile in the NV control panel and then start it from here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\wallpaper32.exe and not through Steam. That should make it run on the dedicated GPU.

Nope , your engine can only work on integrated graphics .
As my laptop display is on the i7 6700hq integrated graphic video card .
And btw , everytime i start wallpaper engine it starts in 32 bit , i'm on a 64bit . Why ?
tried a lot of videos from the wallpaper engine so i don't have problems with only 1 wallpaper ...
Did you think that laptops display is working diferently than a normal pc one ?

PS: can you make a V-Synch option ? This is making all my games run normally .

On Nvidia it doesn't display anything? Or you cannot switch?

V-Sync is always on because it is a child of explorer.exe. The tearing is a driver fault, not because of V-Sync (you only have this tearing with videos, right? Not scenes?). I'm guessing it cannot decode with one GPU and display with the other over Nvidia Optimus. But only Nvidia could explain it for sure...

You need to close the program fully, like with the tray icon, then you can switch to 64-bit in Steam. If it's already running in 32-bit it won't switch.

Ohhhhhh - Imanaged to make it work !

Ok to elucidate this mister i will tell you how i made it work .

First thing when looking at Nvidia Control Panel it looked like this -
https://postimg.org/image/agmvvfu97/

After installing http://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-March2009/confirmation.php?url=/Windows/353.62/353.62-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe&lang=us&type=geforcem

And also after i restarted my laptop after that install ^

Now it looks like this - http://imgur.com/a/YU7V9

And now i can use the app without no more screen tearing .

This is what i made , not anything more or less .

Yeah, strange that it was greyed out, but good that you found a way to fix it.

I have the same laptop except mine is gtx 980m and I am also experiencing video tearing for wallpaper engine. Have followed your steps and got to this screen: http://imgur.com/a/YU7V9 but the "Use global setting (Auto-select: Integrated)" is greyed out and the tearing is not fixed. Would really appreciate your help.
