what does AUDIO RECORDING DO?
and where does it save recorded audio?

Audio recording enables your wallpaper to be able to react to sound. It‘s not stored anywhere.

so i don't have to worry about Wallpaper Engine recording any kind of audio?

Yes, the audio is not being saved anywhere. If you choose a wallpaper that is audio responsive, it records playing audio to control the effects of the wallpaper.

You can turn that option off and then all audio controlled effects will not work, that is the only thing that it's doing.
