after update Windows 10 Fall Creators , I launch the Wallpaper Engine will always show this error and the program automatically shut down ?

I have posted this on MSDN and the feedback hub because Microsoft has broken the HEVC file, yes. They must fix this. Maybe you could up vote it or make another post to help make them aware.

It only concerns HEVC files. If you cannot start the program now, you can delete the config.json from the installation directory so it stops trying to open the HEVC file.

Hi, I think that I have isolated the problem.
first, i deleted the config.json file, then launched the program.
It launched from the beginning as normal. then i tried to change to a wallpaper called "Earth 4k Ultra" and then the program crashed once more.
I deleted the config file again, launched the program again, unsubscribed the specific wallpaper, and now everything seems to be working fine.

Yeah, that wallpaper is most likely using the HEVC codec in Windows. You can make the wallpaper work again with the instructions above if you really want to - but only very few wallpapers were uploaded that use this codec.

although its one of my favourites, I would rather not attempt the above method, knowing my luck, i would probably break something. thanks for the help guys.
