Yeah some video wallpapers have audio, the slider will show up for all videos though, even the ones that are quiet. I think some of these play audio for example: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=431960&searchtext=gandalf
Thank you for the quick reply.
I downloaded all 3 of them, but i dont hear any audio :/
Is there a specefic video format that allows to reproduce audio ?
Also, you could check if Wallpaper Engine is muted in Windows and if it correctly shows this 'green bar' while playing a video with audio: http://i.imgur.com/fFI4JiW.jpg
Yes, i am aware of the audio settings and i do have audio on Wallpaper Engine, and every time i change wallpaper i always turn the volume to 100%, but still no sound.
Thank you for the quick replys.
This is the specific one I tried, which plays sound for me: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=783436035 just so we can check the same file.
If you have time, could you check out these things for me?
- Do you have any codec packs installed? Like K-Lite or CCCP?
- Does the mp4 play audio in WMP (not VLC etc, because Wallpaper Engine uses the same tech as WMP, more or less), it should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\431960\783436035\HD Epic Sax Gandalf.mp4
- Does the sheep wallpaper play sound when you click on the sheep? It's not a video and doesn't have a volume control, so the sheep should basically always make a noise.
Cheers
aaah, sorry about all the trouble....., when i checked the sheep wallpaper it had sound, but then, when i tried a mp4 file that i had on my PC, the sound was off, then i realized, on the Volume Mixer, the Wallpaper Engine was mutted.... lol
once again, Im sorry for wasting your time it, and sorry about taking so long to awnser.
And thanks for all the help
It plays after opening the index, but not when I use it as background.
Help would be appreciated :)
Yeah, but only certain file types will work there. I think ogg and wav would work, or audio from WebM videos.
It is possible now as a new feature on the beta version that you can try here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/350544272219415004/
After importing the GIF, drag the sound into the editor. It supports mp3, wav, ogg and flac files.
