Wall paper engine update?
I was changing my wallpaper and it updated and something popped up with "allow something to make changes to your computer" and i said no because it was a random service and "verified publisher" but wp still installed fine? what was that

Well, as you said, you declined to register a service ("make changes to your Windows") so that way, the high-priority option is not enabled now which is to be expected.

There was recently no update to the main program, only the version on the "beta" branch. However even there, nothing was added that would have to be installed so I don't have any idea what you mean. It could just have been a coincidence that it popped up at that same time.

If you still see this please share a screenshot and describe what exactly you were doing so we can replicate it and see what it could be.

Do you have autostart enabled with "high-priority" in the "General" tab of the Wallpaper Engine settings? That registers a "service" to autostart Wallpaper Engine with Windows which may have been updated for some reason when the "update" was installed. Other than that, Wallpaper Engine will never touch Windows, so it's likely related to the autostart functionality and if it was signed and the correct path, it's really no reason for concern.
