I found another thread wich pointed to a config.json file in the program installation directory, also with further pointers to a "//./DISPLAY1" etc for different displays (that might need to change upon restoring a playlist from a backup..).
My "//./DISPLAY1" lines where much longer though (//?/DISPLAY#ENC1912#5&397a0ebd&0.... and lots more characters...)
Plus both these lines and the playlists were repeated several places in different sections of that file...
And my username (computer user name Im guessing) had changed (just in one place at the top of the json file, afaik)
And, the location of the actual wallpaper had changed... both drive, and path, as I now made an "offline" backup folder instead of subscribing...
In summary, I'll just make new playlists! :-)
No biggie, really! (especially compared to edit all those things which I didn't make on the first couple of tries).
But in the further far(?) future, maybe have some of these points in mind? Like restoring a playlist where the wallpapers in that list may have changed location and / or maybe not subscribed but in the backup folder instead, somehow.
Yes, definitely, but we have numerous things that everyone would like us to add. You can see them here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/0/1500126447391526102/
We would like to implement all of those things but since it's quite a lot it will take time accordingly.
Regarding Steam's feature to move a game to another drive, if we could we would have disabled that. It breaks the auto start function and other things - for a program like Wallpaper Engine you just cannot move it and expect things to work. Games are simpler in this regard so that's why Steam has this feature, but a program like Wallpaper Engine will break when moved.
Thanks for replying (and the link to the roadmap too. Guess I should have looked at it first)!
I get it, I think (being a very casual hobby coder. Just simple things in Processing and Arduino mostly). Now I feel a bit sorry for bringing (nagging about) these rather minor QOL things.. I can imagine the time taken to implement them would probably not be the best in regard to all those other things (and a rather small return for a rather huge effort I'm guessing, for the probably not very often use of a playlist backup items changing drive / location etc.).
In my case it was a new (well, second-hand) system I got, with Windows. So one of the first things I wanted to get back was that awesome Wallpaper Engine of yours :)
Guess I was lucky in selecting the boot drive for WE this time then, for that autostart feature. But I don't remember having any trouble with that the last time I used it either (about a year ago or so).
I've got seasonal playlists that are like 100+ wallpapers. Would be way cool if I could just save that playlist & fire it up on my other PC.
