Wallpaper audio cuts out when Discord running idle
This isn't a support request, I'm just throwing this out there in case anybody is having the same issue and wondering why.

Prior to downloading the newest Discord patch, this issue didn't happen, so I'm guessing there's a correlation.

Basically, when you close Discord (minimize to taskbar, not completely close it) and then switch wallpapers, the audio starts fading in and out. Existing support discussions say that this is caused when a separate program is recording your screen or audio and so that's probably what Discord is doing. The problem stops after you fully close Discord, either from the taskbar or task manager.

I'm assuming this only occurs when your playback options are all set to mute, since that's also what other people's settings are set to that have this issue.

Discord is probably recording Wallpaper Engine and if you set "Other application playing audio" to "Mute", it will mute Wallpaper Engine because it's unable to differentiate between recording and playing audio (that's just a Windows thing basically.

What you can do to get around this is to set up an "Application Rule" in the "Performance" tab of the Wallpaper Engine settings. Create a new rule, select the Discord .exe from the list, set "Condition" to "Is playing audio" and "Wallpaper playback" to "Keep running" and then Wallpaper Engine will not mute itself anymore if it's being recorded by Discord.
