Hey, you cannot temporarily turn off Wallpaper Engine in order to show default Windows wallpapers. If you really want to, you can import single images as static 2D scenes without adding any effects to them - however that's sort of not taking full advantage of Wallpaper Engine.
You can display wallpapers in a set schedule by adding them to a playlist. In the bottom section of the "Installed" tab, hit the plus icon while selecting a wallpaper, this will add it to the playlist. Add multiple wallpapers to the playlist, then hit the little cogwheel icon where you can configure the playlist. You can set it up to change wallpapers on a time or on a fixed schedule (per time of day), as an example, but just have a look at it yourself and see what options fit you best.
Web wallpapers are essentially websites which you can set as backgrounds. However, some people also specifically create wallpapers with the use of web technologies, most audio visualizers are web-based wallpapers for example. If you are into HTML, CSS and JavaScript, they can be used to create relatively complex wallpapers but as a user it's really just a detail and you do not need to pay much attention to it and it really only matters if you want to put a specific website as a background.
One tip for anybody who has the same question: Search for Squee's Slideshow V 3.0 and set your wallpaper folder to it.
For the Dev (Devs?) Is it possible to have an option where "When logging in" can be overrriden by the other playlists? I'd like to start with my old, static wallpapers and get the WE ones start an hour later. Maybe a timer for playlists? Like "When logging in" playlist > "Time of the day" playlist > no playlist after nine pm > "on a timer" until PC's off
I have questions about web wallpapers and security but I'll make another post. Thank you!
