Wallpaper engine seems to be using all 100% of my GPU
I have a GTX 1070 and have changed absolutely nothing in the wallpaper engine settings from when it worked fine to now.

Out of nowhere it started maxing out my GPU usage and is causing my computer to freeze up periodically.

What wallpaper are you experiencing this with exactly (please supply the link to it). That said, usually when people have major performance issues out of nowhere, there is usually some application interfering with Wallpaper Engine, read this FAQ guide and use our scan tool:

Post the scan tool logs as described here:

I ran the scan tool and it says there are no conflicts with any other applications

similar problem

I have a gtx 1080 TI and and the GPU use is between 5-20

I think it is too much

SAME, it didn't used to do this

Same. It took me a while to figure out it was Wallpaper Engine, but it's been with a multiple combination of games and wallpapers. Getting to the point where I'm probably going to uninstall it until it gets fixed.

Keep in mind though the core clock is probably at something like 163 instead of 1920 though...

I did not think of that,

the gpu clock is between 150-300 Mhz aprox

Regarding GPU utilization, we created an FAQ on that, you always have to check your GPU clock rate because Windows does not consider if your GPU is in an ultra low power state:

Please post the log file as described in the link I sent above, even if the application says there are no conflicts.

There are no general answers to this problem. Please post the EXACT wallpaper you are experiencing 100% GPU usage with and provide the log file from our scan tool:

So here is the diagnosis with 32bit wallpaper engine: https://pastebin.com/ACs2V1Ht
And here is the diagnosis with the 64bit wallpaper engine: https://pastebin.com/UTBRdwXh

My settings are:
- MSAA x2
- Resolution Full
- Application Maximized/Fullscreen: Pause per monitor
- Other Application Focused: Keep Running
- FPS 144
- Post Processing: Yes
- Reflections: Yes
- Set High Priority: Yes

My setup involves 3x 144Hz 2560x1440 Acer displays and 1x 60Hz 4k Samsung TV.

My 4 wallpapers are still the ones I linked above from december 21st, 2018

I strongly assume the 144 FPS limit you configured is way too much, especially on a setup with 4 very high resolution screens you are just putting unnecessarily high load on your GPU which will put it under a lot of stress.

Try to lower the FPS limit to a more reasonable value. For reference, by default we would recommend something like 25 FPS. I understand you are trying to make the most of the 144 Hz your screens offer, however, it's really not realistic to have 144 FPS across 4 screens with a GTX1070 and expect it to essentially be "idle" (which is generally what you want to aim for). Try to find the lowest number that you can live with and use a tool like GPU-Z to monitor your GPU load, you should see significant improvements when you lower the FPS limiter.

From my personal experience, you really don't notice the fps limit that much once you stop actively looking for it, you may also want to try some wallpapers where it is less noticeable - like I said, there is probably a healthy compromise to be found.

Well for the most part only 2 are really ever running because I usually have something fullscreened on 2 other screens like 90% of the time, and like I said before it didnt used to eat up my GPU but now it does.
