I'm having the same issue....for months, but only one one computer (the newest and most powerful one)...very odd

The crash after hibernation is fundamentally a driver issue which we simply cannot directly fix, we don't have access to graphics drivers and rely on them to work properly like any other program does. This automatic restart is already a crazy attempt to somehow deal with Windows' oddness. But if even this is being hindered then we really have a tough time taking it much further.
There could be a couple of reasons that the service can't work right, like an anti-virus (except Windows Defender) or if you installed Wallpaper Engine to a drive that is not immediately available when Windows tries to start the service.
I was using these terms synonymously (sleep/hibernation), do you mean with sleep mode that you only let the display turn off automatically but let the computer keep running and that leads to a crash?
