Error help
Every time i try to start WPE (doesn't matter which version), i get this error: "DirectX 10 is not supported by your graphics card or your graphics driver is broken.". (Windows error "887 a0004, 0") I own the gigabyte gtx 1070 8GB. I reinstalled all drivers but it just doesn't work. Thanks in advance!

The problem is your driver version, version 397.31 is just royally bugged: https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/1696045708652276446/

Which version did you install? Can you check the current driver version in the Nvidia Control Panel?

could it have something to do with the gigabyte drivers i installed? I installed them like 3 days ago and now everything is broken.

I'm currently running the 391.35 driver

That driver is the right one, yeah - I think your driver installation might be completely busted now thanks to the broken driver before (at least some users on the Nvidia forum had trouble downgrading again). Did you restart the whole PC after installing 391.35?

I don't know anything about those.

The only other thing I heard of is this tool that should supposedly help to install a driver after something went really wrong: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/geforce-drivers/wagnard-tools-ddu-gmp-tdr-manipulator-new-cpu-core-analyzer-updated-05-03-2018-/

Otherwise it could be worth asking here how to properly get 391.35 to install so everything works again: https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/ (Or you might find a thread about this similar issue since there are lots about the latest driver breaking things.)

I am also having this issue, and it's cropped up with the last few driver releases from nVidia.

Same issue here as well. I used DDU to wipe the drivers and installed 391.35 and it's still persisting. GTX 1070ti, 32GB of RAM

I don't know the exact steps how to restore a broken graphics driver if it got that broken. Maybe you could try Nvidias hotfix 397.55, but I haven't even installed that myself because the latest driver versions are just full of problems.

It was 100000000000% that! "Fixed" and sorry for bothering you, but thanks so much for being so responsive.
