cannot delete wallpaper32
sorry for the bump but i was going through my startup programs and saw wallpaper32 in it and i right clicked and clicked on search online and in showed me that the program is 44% dangerous because it records key presses and other thing and if the program is located in the windows folder then it is 89% dangerous , then i clicked on another website and it showed that most viruses disguise itself as wallpaper32 and i should delete it and i searched where does wallpaper32 come from and it said it comes with wallpaper engine , but the thing is i have deleted wallpaper engine and refunded it so there is no way its still there then i went to my steam folder and then steamapps/common and it had wallpaper engine folder in it and i deleted it but wallpaper32 still wont go away from startup programs list(for the time being i have disabled it) , so i was wondering if you had any idea where i can find and delete it cause it doesnt seem like anti-virus detects it (used walmarebytes and mcafee ) and going to startup programs and right clicking isnt useful cause it has "properties" and "open file location" buttons greyed out and i have no other way of finding it. i will be waiting for a reply (hopefully)

If you moved the files at any time then the auto start will still be in the old folder. You can right click it in the task manager 'details' tab to open the location it was started from.

But there is no virus in the program. The sites that you visited are scam sites. They record all .exe files that exist at all so that they show up on Google when you search them and can either make money from ads or trick you into downloading an actual virus. Those sites are dangerous.

The start up tab shows all registered programs. Have you uninstalled it from Steam? Deleting the files directly or refunding does not uninstall it, therefore it will not unregister, it needs to be uninstalled normally.

Edit: I have removed your second post because it was unrelated to the other thread, so this is better.

could the actual wallpapers contain a virus? I found wallpaper32 running at 99% of my GPU in task.
