Random wallpaper removed?
So I'm subscribed to a ton of wallpapers and I create various playlists. Sometimes I'll notice a message about a wallpaper or component of one being removed and notice the wallpaper count for the current playlist has decreased.

Why does this occur? One would think that if I've downloaded a wallpaper that it shouldn't be removed without my say so. Can I stop this from happening in any way?

Thanks.

Steam automatically removes the ones that were deleted by the author of the wallpaper or banned, I cannot control this from my end. You could make a copy of the wallpaper though (right click a wallpaper and then 'open in explorer' to find it). I cannot even change Wallpaper Engine to make a copy itself because I would be violating the Steam terms of service if I would do so.

Something being removed could be because the person who uploaded the wallpaper has taken it down, or because it showed pornographic material and has been removed by the Workshop Admins or it might have been removed from a "BanBot" from Steam who might have misjudged the wallpaper for pornographic material.
Those are the major reasons I can think of right now.

That's too bad that there's no work around on your end. However, thanks for the quick and detailed response!

So if you copy and then rename a subscribed wallpaper that would prevent Steam from removing it?
