So my wallpaper engine reset to an older date?
A bunch of wallpapers I have deleted in the past are now installed and all the new ones are gone and it's like it reset to half a year ago for no reason? And I still had a new wallpaper running that also disappeared but was still running in the background

Same, mine just reset to default and unable to subscribe to any of the wallpaper in workshop

Sounds like a Steam server issue. Wallpaper Engine has no direct control over what you are subscribed to, it just shows what Steam tells it to show. I would suggest you just wait for a while and try restarting Steam and Wallpaper Engine.

There was a Steam server issue a few hours ago which reset all wallpapers and caused some major issues with subscription downloads. The Steam team has fixed the servers an hour ago but it may be that some subscriptions are lost - the full extent of this issue is not clear to us. Again, this was a Steam issue and not a Wallpaper Engine problem, so we do not know all the technical details of what happened. Please restart Steam and Wallpaper Engine and see if your subscriptions return.

so did mine and it just downloaded Everything again and belive you me ive been subscribing away so my library is massive. ( been meaning to actually sort it out but hey) only problem is that once it was finished it just showed ALOT of red screen messages in the Wallpaper client saying:
STEAM REPORTED: File not found Item download Failed for ID: and a bunch of numbers.

Ive restarted steam twice and downloaded it twice now....lets hope the third one is the charm?

As the error implies, again this comes directly from Steam. In your case I would also try to verify the Wallpaper Engine files in case something got corrupted by the Steam error earlier:

Problem is that it seems its stuck on 99% since it seems it wants to download the wallpapers first, all 21gigs of it.. but Honestly Tim i gotta give you props for the fast responce on the forums and with advice etc. Keep up the good work man. ill try verifying it again once its downloaded it for the third time i guess.

Thanks for the kind words, it's definitely been an unexpectedly stressful day because of this Steam Workshop server error.

One more thing, if it fails a third-time, try to clear the Steam download cache as described here:

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638

Afterwards, restart Steam and potentially even re-install Wallpaper Engine, you may want to create a backup of your current config.json (it's in the wallpaper_engine install directory) and throw it back in there after Wallpaper Engine has been fully re-downloaded. That should really clear up all corrupted data.

i Went ahead paused the download and did what you suggested. Figured it cant hurt and might resolve it instead of having to do it a 4th time.

Guess ill know in a while if it works or not

Edit: Update. Ok so clearing the steam download cache and reinstalling Wallpaper Engine seems to have sorted me out. Thanks for the help!
