The difference is that streaming from the disc could harm it long-term. This isn't proven but is likely. The cache option sacves it in the memory and thus doesn't affect the disk. High size of the wallpaper might crash wallpaper engine though.

我认为如果内存足够大,最好缓存在内存. 我设置缓存成磁盘的时候,就会一直产生一个大约5M/s的磁盘使用,一直存在. 虽然不大但是一直在读写. 所以最好还是缓存在内存,也就占个2gb不到,32gb内存甚至16gb, 不多开太多东西,都是不影响使用的.
