Starting on its own,
Does any one else have a problem with the program starting on its own? Almost every day, I look at steam and it says "Playing WallPaper Engine." Is any one experiencing this problem or know of a solution? I have almost 200 hours on this program becuase of this issue.

If you aren't using it, open up task manager, click the startup tab, right click "wallpaper32" and click disable. If you simply don't open the app (even with a wallpaper on) it won't say "playing wallpaper engine," I do not know about if it counts as hours though.

I have the wallpaper I'm using going whenever my computer is on, so I'm always using it. It comes on automatically when Steam starts up but it doesn't open up Wallpaper Engine, the last background I had on will just pop up. When I see that Wallpaper Engine is running, I have to disable it in Task Manager, run it through Steam, and then close out of it, to get the program to stop displaying on Steam that I'm "playing" it.

Steam does this when you have an internet disconnect. The solution is to start it from outside Steam instead so it doesn't track it: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\wallpaper32.exe

Ok, so I just disabled it through Task Managaer, then opened it up from the folder through Windows and it never went through Steam, the program also didnt come up just the last background I used. So when I open it up again through the folder, to get to the Program page, Steam says I'm playing it still. So it's still going through Steam.

Do you mean when you have the browse window open? It accesses Workshop then, yeah, but it should never show up after you closed that window.

I think this actually worked becuse I lost internet last night and woke up to Steam not playing anything like usual. So thank you for the solution my man!
