How do I stop wallpaper engine from auto startup with windows?
Sometimes I want to have an animated wallpaper from wallpaper engine. Sometimes I just want to have a normal picture as a wallpaper. It depends on my mood.

I know that you can close wallpaper engine by right clicking on the takbar icon, then quit. But every time I restart my computer, wallpaper engine starts again.

It's not under windows startup applications, so I can't disable or enable it easily, but it can be found under "services" instead, where it CAN be disabled or enabled. However this is not very intuitive.

Is there not another way to just "disable" wallpaper engine? There should be an option in its settings to auto startup or not.

Or maybe even if it's enabled to auto start up, perhaps to "turn off" the selected wallpaper to show instead a Windows wallpaper?

Thanks!

You can disable it by clicking on the wallpaper engine icon, then go under general in the settings and untick "Start with Windows"

If it's under services then you enabled the high-priority mode for auto start, so you just have to disable it again + untick the checkbox as Pancakes said.

(If it doesn't show that it's enabled, the save file is inconsistent with Windows, but then you can enable and disable it and it will match up again.)

Oh my god, I missed that whole general tab and the "Start with Windows" option, now I feel dumb.

Thank you both!
