Can it run without Steam?

I got a question: When I buy this software and install a live wallpaper, does this mean that Steam is started in the background every time I boot up my PC? Or is the program detached from Steam and just uses its DRM mechanism somehow?

It can be automatically started up with windows.

Wow, that's cool. So you say I can put it in the Windows startup folder and it will run after logging in without starting Steam in the background (and thus saving RAM and resources)?

there is a tickbox in the settings to let it start up automatically. After ticking it, it will start after your PC is booted up.

Nice, but it still doesn't answer the question: When I check the auto startup checkbox and reboot my system, will Wallpaper Engine run without starting Steam as well?

Cause in all your screenshots at the shop page, there is the Steam symbol in the systray at the lower right.

steam is not required unless you want to download workshop wallpapers.

I almost forgot to report back: I can confirm it starts up without Steam running in the background after booting the PC. Very nice!

can you tell me how? i lose my wallpaper after booting my pc :/

Right-click its systray icon (at the lower right of the screen, left of the clock), select Settings, navigate to the General tab and check the option "Start with Windows".
