Multi monitor setup, high resource usage?
I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but I'm seeing around 30% CPU usage (i7 3770k at 4.4GHz) which seems a little high. The wallpapers themselves don't use much, just 3-4 percent per monitor, but "desktop window manager" from windows always uses around 20% for some reason. If it only runs on one monitor it's around 8-10%.
If I turn the FPS down to 20 (from 60), it DWM usage goes down to 12%, but I don't really want it any lower since that's not very pleasing to look at

With 2 monitors: https://i.imgur.com/rwll50I.png
With 2 monitors, 20FPS: https://i.imgur.com/mJjTMyo.png
With one monitor: https://i.imgur.com/BwOHEov.png

The first monitor is 1440x900 (used in the "one monitor" test), the second "monitor" is a 5760x1080 surround setup, which windows threats as one big monitor.

Is there something I can do to try to reduce CPU usage or is it just related to how windows works and nothing can be done about it?

same problem here, did you find a fix?

Don't connect the monitors to different GPUs that are not connected to one another to fix this. It makes Windows synchronize them on your CPU because the hardware isn't built for it. It's the same when you take any windowed game and move it in-between your monitors.

Anyway, that only accounts for high DWM usage, that's where Windows does that. I don't know if that's what you mean, but the OP described that at least.

Which resource usage is high exactly, which process etc and which wallpaper are you using?

Laptops should not have that issue from the OP since their GPUs are connected directly. At least that is how manufacturers are supposed to build them, with 'Nvidia Optimus' and such for all your displays.

So the issue is not the CPU usage? Then it is different from the OP and what I said before.

Please check your GPU clock rate. The GPU usage in the task manager can be false if it is not close to 100%: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/2949168687316274454/

You can also open a game and see how the GPU usage of DWM changes. If the DWM GPU usage becomes insignificant while playing a game, then the task manager tricked you with a false reading before. Then again you have two GPUs I assume (Intel and Nvidia). So if you run the game on the other GPU you can't rely on this again...

my gpu core clock its 1404 mhz and gpu memory its 4006 mhz its a 1060 and i have video hardware aceleration disable, whats should i do, if i turn of the program it 139 mhz and 405 mhz
respectively

Thanks, and what is it when you don't use clone? Please also share a link to the wallpaper because I don't have any reference on what to expect without knowing the wallpaper you are using.
