Not launching

Every time I try to launch Wallpaper Engine it does not launch, I tried both 32 and 64 bit mode for both of them to show the launching message then after it goes away nothing else happens. I do have a dual gpu setup, and use MSI Afterburner, so what do I do to have it launch?

Try manually installing these that Steam should install:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2013\vcredist_x86.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2013\vcredist_x64.exe

And try launching it directly with wallpaper32.exe (possibly as admin).

Also since you mention Afterburner, you should exclude wallpaper32.exe in RivaTuner. RivaTuner injects code that makes things unstable.

Thanks for helping me, it's working after I had to verify the cache integrity because of a other error.

I am not able to launch the program. I press launch, I choose either 64-bit or 32, but nothing happens. No launch message, error log, or anything. I verified files, but nothing happened. I checked those vcredst files and they are all there. I try to launch as admin, 64 bit still does nothing, if I launch 32 bit with admin, it says I need d3dx9_43.dll

even if the files are there you should click the "repair" option and repair bith x64 and x86, then verify cache.

Ok, the icon now appears in the taskbar, but if I click any option in it (such as settings or change wallpaper) nothing happens.

Did you install all of the files? Since you had that DX error, Steam apparently did not even install dxsetup.exe which is in the other directory in _CommonRedist.

So in total, you need to run those 3 .exe files manually.

Does the 32-bit version appear in the task bar? Also make sure to verify the installation over Steam because missing files can also lead to what you are describing.

I ran the dxsetup,exe and now it seems to work fine. Thanks for the help!
