How do I get rid of the blue highlight-y thing that appears when I click and drag stuff on the interactive wallpapers?
What the title says, I have no clue how to disable it.

What kind of bug? That's a windows feature helping you distinguish what area you have selected.

Whenever I use the mouse cursor to hover over an icon on the desktop it will then be permanently highlight ed in blue
Also when I highlight the desktop by holding down left mouse and dragging to highlight an area the highlight will stay and not go away

Can you take a screenshot of your problem? Sounds like a wrong Windows setting to me and Wallpaper Engine does not touch those, but I might be confusing things here.

Here a have a screenshot but instead of small parts of the desktop being higlihghted it is the whole thing, I can still even see the defult windows background as well as my live wallpaper which is the alien writing stuff

I don't know what I am looking at there, you must be running some other tools that are causing this. You can try running the scan tool and provide the full log to me and I will have a look, but generally I would advise you to have a look what other software you have running that can cause this.

It is ok now I managed to fix it by just setting my windows background to a plain black one so now nothing will stay highlighted

Thanks for the help though

I know you kind of got a workaround now, but you can also try setting Windows 7 mode to "Block background" in the Wallpaper Engine settings (it's in the advanced options section in the "General" tab). I am not sure if this fix is applicable here since I still don't fully get what's going on but this might actually fix the problem for you properly.
