Run without steam?

I am thinking of buying, but wondering if you can launch/have it active without it showing up on your profile as "In Game: Wallpaper Engine" all the time. Can it run on startup and through the files .exe without steam?

Yes, it can run without Steam and there's also an option to have it startup with Windows.

Be aware though, you'd need the Steam-client running in order to do updates for it, to access the Workshop through it or to Publish a wallpaper to the Workshop.

When you are not using the Wallpaper Engine browser, the status shouldn't show as being "in game" for it.

It can. It will only show in game when you browse for wallpapers in the menu.

ah ok that makes sense, I pretty much always have steam on so updates and workshop access shouldn't be an issue, just didn't want to show up as "in game" constantly. Thanks!
