Volume slider ( and also mute options) not working

First of all, I am sorry if there already is a topic on it and it's been answered, but I couldn't find it.

I have an issue where my playlist of wallpapers sometimes start playing audio even though according to the settings it should be muted and the biggest issue I have is that audio slider doesn't work, even using windows audio mixer and so on to mute wallpaper engine doesn't work, I can attempt to change the audio in wallpaper engines audio tab to 0 and it will still be playing audio. Only fix to this I found was to pause the wallpaper, but then I still have the issue of the wallpapers being insanely loud when I do run them with no way to reduce the volume beside reducing volume on my headphones.

I have read in a 2018 post that it could be due to webm audio, which would make sense why only certain ones have this issue and if it is what's causing the problem, is there no work around/fix that wouldn't require messing around with the wallpaper itself?

Not sure if I simply didn't notice this before it seems to have started with me playing Path of Exiles 2, I did also update windows to 24H2 at around the same time.
