Wallpaper Engine

Completely Bricking my PC every time the app is opened
This is becoming a really difficult issue really quickly because the app opens automatically whenever I boot up my PC and log in. I literally have to rush to close the application from my taskbar as soon as I log in because if I don't do that within like 3 seconds the app opens and loads a wallpaper and I have to restart my computer and try again all over.

Essentially what happened was the first time I opened the app, I was looking at the built-in wallpapers. All animated, all looked great. As soon as i clicked on one specific one of them though, my screen suddenly went completely grey, starting dark then slowly fading into a lighter grey. Interestingly I could still make out the icons on my desktop, and every app I had open, (even if they had previously been minimized, (which at the time was settings, Wallpaper Engine, and Task Manager,)) were also open and very faintly visible. Unfortunately, one thing that was not visible was my cursor, and i tried multiple times in multiple ways to click on and interact with things on screen despite not being able to see my cursor, but nothing could be interacted with. I tried Ctrl+Alt+Del and then closing Wallpaper Engine through the Task Manager, but as soon as I clicked "Task Manager," I was just stuck back on the Grey Screen. I could fix the problem for literally 1/2 of a second if I put my computer to sleep, woke it up, and logged in but then it'd go grey again. In that 1/2 second before my screen went grey, I could see that the wallpaper on my desktop was the one I set it to before, displayed seemingly perfectly fine on its own until everything broke.

I literally just bought this and I can't even disable it as a startup app, so as long as it's installed my pc is virtually unusable. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and somehow that didn't work, as soon as the app opened up again my PC was immediately bricked.

With the few Wallpapers I got to Demo before this app turned into a nuke for my PC, I was really pleased with the smoothness and quality of them, so I'd really like to make this app work if possible, but I can't even get into the app to see its settings or anything to try and troubleshoot it because as soon as its open it explodes into Grey. I can't find anyone else having a similar issue to this, am I alone? Am I stupid? Any help much appreciated :cattiva:

Haven't come across this particular error description before, it sounds like a driver issue or some other software interfering maybe.

Could you run our analysis tool and send me the log file it generates, I will take a look if I can spot anything odd:

I've sent an message with the log attached to the email on the website as instructed in the support page you linked. Thank you for your reply and for taking the time to look into this! I'll be patiently awaiting your response :)

It looks like there is something wrong with your graphics card drivers, the infos in the log file are largely incomplete and a mess. Your Intel graphics card drivers are from 2020 and not made for Windows 11 and the Nvidia drivers don't show any data so I am not even sure what version you are running.

I would start by uninstalling both your Intel and Nvidia graphics drivers and then reinstall the latest ones for your system.

Here are the latest Nvidia drivers:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/245377/

Make sure to tick the "Perform clean reinstallation" (or similar) checkbox during setup.

And for your Intel GPU, use the Intel tool to detect the correct drivers:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

Afterwards, restart your system and try again.
