Wallpaper Engine, Family share and Local files
The most annoying thing wallpaper engine has is that when I family share with someone, it automatically makes me download all their wallpapers on wallpaper engine, and the probably the same for the other person. Except all these wallpapers are in my local files and do not display on wallpaper engine. How do I stop it from doing this? Also a lot of my wallpapers I have unsubscribed from are still there locally.

Probably you mean that if you install Wallpaper Engine on another system or log into Steam on another computer, Steam will automatically start downloading your subscriptions for your account on that system. There is unfortunately nothing that can be done to prevent this (aside from unsubscribing from everything and using local back ups only). It's a limitation in Steam that we have also talked to the Steam team about in the past but it does not look like they want to change the current system anytime soon.

It's not Wallpaper Engine doing this, it's Steam, steam manages downloads.

Is there a way to change how steam manages the downloads?

Fixed the un subscribing one, just have to go through wallpaper engine properties and then make sure the game is on always updated so it deletes the wallpapers when you close down wallpaper engine. not sure about family sharing though.

I'm having the same problem. I recently enable steam family sharing with my friend and after that when I open wallpaper engine. Steam automatically download all her workshop content. Which is massive. Those wallpaper does not show on the app but its taking disk space.
