Playlist Hotkeys only directing to 1 playlist
Sorry if I'm doing something wrong, I have never posted to a forum before. So I have two playlists attached to two different hotkeys. For some reason, after this past update, two things have happened:
1. double clicking any wallpaper won't load it. This also happens for wallpapers that were just downloaded
2. both of my hotkeys redirect to the same playlist.
How do i fix this? this is very annoying. i've already tried redownloading the app and restarting my computer

update: I deleted the playlist that both hotkeys directed to and restarted the app and computer. it STILL keeps cycling through the same playlist on the one hotkey that works. I've also deleted the other playlist and created a new one. this doesn't work as well :(

Hi, can you please share this full log with us? See this guide for the instructions on how to save it and send it to us: https://help.wallpaperengine.io/debug/scantool.html

Thanks for sending the log.

Regarding the hotkeys, they are assigned to one specific monitor and won't replace the playlist on all monitors. However what I noticed is that they caused the other monitors to reload their wallpapers too, so this might have been confusing since they may have picked a different one.

If you want one hotkey to apply one playlist to all monitors then this would likely need a new option in the playlist dialog where hotkeys are assigned. (Right now you could also load the playlist from the tray menu, this does apply it to all monitors and opposite to hotkeys, it does not allow applying a playlist to a single monitor.)

Regarding your other issue, could you share a link to a wallpaper that doesn't download/load? I think this may happen if it's a preset to a wallpaper that was removed. Steam doesn't really offer a solution to this, but we should be able to show an error message at least if this is what happened.

Thanks for the info! How would I go about setting up playlist hotkeys, then? I've been using the option to add a hotkey to a playlist in the Load/Open Playlist tab, but it doesn't seem to work.

For the other issue, its not just a few wallpapers that don't work. It's all of them. Using https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1661369948 as an example, if I press "subscribe", it will subscribe to the wallpaper and download it, but the wallpaper itself won't appear on my screen. It stays as the wallpaper I was using right before subscribing to the wallpaper. Double-clicking on the icon while it's downloaded will close the Wallpaper Engine window but still doesn't change the wallpaper. This all works fine, along with the playlist hotkeys issue if my main monitor is switched to the second one in the Display Settings, though. Hope this helps!

It looks like you're using the clone layout, so I wonder if this might be related to it? It wouldn't be possible to have different playlists per monitor with this.

There might be some error occurring so that it's not showing the clone layout properly, but that may be why nothing is happening when you try selecting a wallpaper with your current monitor configuration.

Can you check in the display menu if it shows that the clone layout is active and turn it off?

Sorry, I think there must be a misunderstanding. I want to have both monitors display the same playlist and wallpaper, hence the clone layout. However, the wallpapers that I select aren't showing up when I select them. The Display Settings I was talking about in the earlier comment is the Windows Display Settings. Sorry for the confusion!

In that case please try right clicking the monitor in Wallpaper Engine that makes everything work when it is the primary monitor in Windows and choose "Set main clone display". Does this change anything?

Unfortunately, it didn't help. When my primary monitor is switched to the second one (the one that makes everything work), it looks like this - https://imgur.com/a/iMZyud5. Right clicking and choosing "Set Main Clone Display" doesn't change anything (C1 is still marked as C1 and 1 is still marked as 1). Switching the primary monitor back to the first one still has the problems.

I think we're going to have to try and replicate this. I don't think we have had any similar reports but I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I will try to get around digging into this issue within the next week or so, if you don't hear from us by the end of the month, please give us another notch here.

Until then, you could try to switch to the beta:

Then do a full reset of Wallpaper Engine by pressing the red reset button at the bottom of the "General" tab in the settings. After the reset is done, before anything else, change the "Monitor identification" option to "Managed" and see if that helps already. It's a new system for our upcoming update, maybe it will alleviate (some of) your issues already. Feedback is appreciated.

For whatever reason everything was fixed as soon as I switched to the beta, I still don't know exactly what happened? Thanks for helping me out with the issue though!

Cool, glad the beta fixed it. If any the issue returns, still try to change the monitor identification to "Managed" just to see if that works. You can opt out of the beta again once the next update is out (just keep an eye on the Steam update news from time to time).
