Thank you though, I will accept my new fate of black screen as well
1. Open Wallpaper Engine.
2. Hover over the "Installed" tab, then select "Configure Screensaver".
3. Towards the upper left corner of the window, there is a button that says "Settings & Preview", if the window is small then it may just show you the Windows logo. Click on this button. It should now open the screensaver settings and you should be able to disable the screensaver there by setting it to "None".
If this was not possible, you could have never enabled it in the first place, so I am fairly sure you can disable it this way. Wallpaper Engine never enables the screensaver automatically, so you must have done it manually for sure.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! Youre amazing :) I feel foolish af letting it piss me off for a year LOL
