Error Code: 0xC0000005
The program crashes on first start up. it says: "Error code: 0xC0000005. Access violation: trying to read from address 0x00000000."
I did the system check with wallpaper engine and the only thing it says is that I have malwarebytes, however I only have the free version. I reinstalled my nividia drivers however the error has not changed

I am not entirely sure looking at the files you shared via email. It could just be that your installation is broken. I don't see Malwarebytes in your logs, did you maybe uninstall it or is it even not running at all? Try uninstalling Wallpaper Engine, then manually delete the wallpaper_engine directory (C:\Games\SteamSD\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine on your computer) and then reinstall the app via Steam. Does that maybe fix your issue?

Yup, that fixed it. Also, the malwarebytes in diagnostic32.exe stopped showing up for awhile, and I sent you the most recent file.

Thanks a bunch

nevermind, I did what you said and this time a tutorial installation popped up asking me about the language, quality setting, etc. I got through that and the exact same error popped up

Very weird, could you switch to the beta and see if the issue persists there:

I did so and it opens and functions, however I cannot look at other's wallpapers. I can only apply the preloaded wallpapers. When hitting the discover tab this error pops up:

"Steam Error
Steamworks could not be initialized. Please try to restart and afterwards Wallpaper Engine. If you continue seeing this error, that means that your PC cannot correctly authenticate with the Steam servers, check you internet connection and whether you are logged into the correct Steam account.

Do not launch steam as administrator, that prevents Steamworks from connecting to Steam. An anti-virus or security software could be preventing Steam and Wallpaper Engine from wokring together as well, try turning that off.

Check the FAQ to get more help if needed: [link]"

Can you check which Steam version you are running? Open Steam and at the top click on "Help" and then "About Steam". It should give you a version from July or June 2021. In the past we had users who were running extremely outdated versions (from 2020) that would cause Wallpaper Engine to crash.

If you see a version number older than June 2021, please fully uninstall Steam, then manually delete your Steam directory and reinstall Steam. It's likely that an antivirus app or something like that has permanently broken your Steam installation which is causing Wallpaper Engine to crash when it connects to Steam. You will likely start experiencing similar crashes in Steam games.

About steam says:

"Built: Dec 7 2020, at 10:08:33
Steam API: v020
Steam package versions: 1607372145"

Your Steam version is 7 months old, this is crashing the app because Steam has changed a lot since then. Please fully uninstall Steam and purge the entire Steam directory as described above, this will fix your problem.

Alright I uninstalled steam and I tried to delete all the leftover file stuff, however I made panorama folder beyond administrator level and uh, I wasnt able to delete it. I actually wasn't able to even open it. The things you do to disable big picture mode, amirte? And then totally forget about until you have already uninstalled steam...

So yeah. Long story short I wiped my drive and reinstalled windows, and wallpaper engine works perfectly... sigh

Probably locking that folder prevented your Steam from updating, there are file unlocker tools that you can use to forcibly delete files and folders like that but seeing that you went a little overkill and just wiped Windows, I guess I don't need to go into that further :pug:.

I have just tried updating every driver possible and turned my AV off and on just for your comment to fix my issue.

Thank you
