Windows 11 Issues
Hello,

Hoping for some help here. Been using Wallpaper Engine for ages and love it but just upgraded from Windows 10 to 11 and now when certain applications are fullscreen borderless I get random "blips" or flashes of white that consume the whole screen (note doesn't happen to the other monitors on my computer which are still rendering the wallpaper). This flash is extremely quick (less than a second) but is easily noticeable.

If I stop Wallpaper Engine, this behavior stops.

Easiest way to notice the issue is when watching Youtube videos via their "fullscreen" button (which as far as I can tell is really fullscreen borderless vs actual dedicated fullscreen if that makes sense).

I say this because I notice this same behavior when I run games in fullscreen borderless. If running just maximized (with border/frame/window) or true dedicated fullscreen there is no issue.

The timing is not consistent but feels like every 30s to a minute.

In addition I'll notice an issue in the following example of say the Windows settings window is over a maximized Chrome window that the settings window's border/shadow with erratically go away and come back periodically.

I'm on Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, build 22631.2792 using a Nvidia RTX 3090 running driver version 546.29 with Wallpaper Engine version 2.3.26.

I've noticed these issues since upgrading to Windows 11 and have seen them for a month+ over more than one Nvidia driver and Windows build.

Any help or suggestions regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Attaching the debug log file as suggested via your support site.

Thanks!

I have absolutely the same problem for about a year, after some another update. So far your example is the only one similar to my problem that I found on the Internet. Everywhere on the Internet they write about some basic things like video drivers, but apparently the problem is in the Windows 11 itself and can only be solved by new updates.

Huh, well thanks for the reply to know it's not just me... I also emailed the developer directly with the above info using the support email address their website provides but never heard anything back via that route either and that was several months ago. The issue has been annoying enough to me that I've returned to just using static wallpapers and stopped using wallpaper engine which is sad cause it's such a great application otherwise.

Having the same issues with flickering every so often when wallpaper engine is running on windows 11. Would appreciate a patch.
