How to get the original wallpaper from wallpaper engine

If you want to get the full original image of the wallpaper follow this guide:

1. Go to your steam directory on your PC, where your games are saved, usually a folder called "steamapps".
   
   
2. Go to 'workshop -> content' and find the folder containing all of your wallpapers, try finding a folder that has the same number of folders as workshop wallpapers you have installed. My folder is called '431960'.
   
   
3. Find the folder that contains the preview image of the wallpaper you wish to obtain.
   
   
4. Once you have found the preview image, open google chrome (preferably as it is easier).
   
   
5. Click on the preview image and drag it into your tabs section of chrome.
   
   
6. Once the image has been opened on chrome, right click the image and click
   'Search images with google'.
   
   
7. Here you can scroll down the menu until you find one that leads to one of the following websites (preferably):
   
   
   • Pinterest
     
   • Wallpaperflare
     
   • Deviantart
     
   • Pexels
     
   • Unsplash
     
   • Pixabay
     
   • Wallpapers.com
     
   • Freepik
   
   
8. Once there, if supported, use a download button and if you can select a resolution (preferably 2K - 4K as it will have higher quality, typically choose a resolution 1K above your monitor's resolution).
   
   
9. Boom, you should have the wallpaper! This will work for most wallpapers as not many people make their own as most steam users aren't artists... :)

Q: Why is this useful?

A: This is useful because when starting your device, unless you have an extremely powerful PC, wallpaper engine tends not to be prioritised upon startup, and so often you will be left staring at a completely different wallpaper until the engine does start.

Obtaining the original image in its Wallpaper Engine resolution and setting it on your device (If on windows set the 'Choose a fit' option in Personalise to 'Fit') as the default background will help to keep your immersion/relaxation/whatever. This way, it will appear as though the wallpaper is already loaded, and only the effects will appear to load late.
