Taskbar being odd
Is anyone else having issues with WIndows 11's taskbar? I recently upgraded to a new computer and it keeps like flickering back to the normal task bar from the standard desktop color. The App it self sometimes flickers too. My graphics arent broken and no app is doing anything to take control, also no SFC/DISM check shows corruption

Hey, we have not heard any similar reports about this. In the past (on Windows 10 if I remember correctly), this was caused by other apps interfering with the task bar, possibly at the same time as Wallpaper Engine (if you have configured it to change the task bar color). Did you install Windows 11 yourself or is it a pre-built that may have been shipped with pre-installed software that may interfere with the Windows color scheme in some way?

Windows 11 toolbar blinking after 22h2 update
Well, after the W11 22h2 update, and the recent nvidia driver updates also, among other problems, I recently discovered that wall paper engine is responsable for my toolbar blinking. If I right click on the tool bar and left click randomly outside of it, it blinks, and other scenarios also. If i restart the pc and don't use the software none of this happens.
Before the update everything was good!

My drivers and sistem are all up to date. Does anyone have a solution for this?

My gpu is a 3070.

I merged your threads just in case this issue is related. You two are the only users who have reported this issue so far and we have also not been able to reproduce this on our Windows 11 Nvidia machines.

I am not sure if this is really related to the 22H2 update, it has been out for over a month now and we have not had any similar reports, my best guess that it would be either a very specific Windows setting or a conflict with another app that you might be using. The other user has unfortunately not gotten back to me, are you using any desktop modification software or similar (see my post above)?

Hi Tim, not using any software, also i did a clean install of the 22h2, but this not solve the problem.

I'm having other problems beside this... For example, my browsers are artifacting on youtube with the videos paused.
When it's paused, if I move the cursor between the close tab and open new tab, or the superior part of the browser, it starts to blink artifacts and breaking fonts on the page. If I turn off acceleration(windows or browsers) this problem goes away, not the blinking task bar with wallpaper engine.

Did a clean install of windows 10 22h2 and it solved all the problems, that's why I'm thinking this might be faulty update still... but why stick with windows 10 when all the optimizations are coming for the 11, right?

But I'm still positive that this is not my gpu, cause I tested on fur mark for a certain time, and played lots of heavy games for hours and it was all good. Also my gpu is only 2 months old.

Have any News about this Tim?

Sorry, I have not had any other reports on this and I cannot reproduce the issue on our Windows 11 systems, so I am not sure what could be causing this. Since you downgraded to Windows 10, it's also not easy to debug your issue anymore. I assume it must be caused by a very odd driver problem or a conflict with an app / Windows component, especially since you seem to be also experiencing other artifacts throughout Windows 11 on your system. As of now, however, I have nothing to go by though I am afraid.

Usually when issues are as rare as this, it's some highly specific issue with the individual computer, though, speaking from experience.

That's okay, I'll stop using engine for some time, with the downgrade I manage to fix all the other issues but not the wallpaper engine Taskbar flickering... Recently I read that some AMD cpus were suffering from performance issues again after the 22h2 update, I felt my system slower btw(have a 5600x)...

I don't know if this was the reason of my problems, but since the problems went away with with the downgrade I'll stick with W10 until the end of support in 2025 maybe.

PS: I was suspecting that hardware acceleration was causing my problems, even with that turned on, windows 10 behaves smooth with no artifacts or any graphical issues, glad my hardware has no physical problem.

I barely saw this, sorry, But I really cant tell you whats going on, i dont really know whats causing it, and I've gotten rid of AWCC and other apparent software but it still occurs its been very off, sometimes it doesnt happen sometimes does.

This exact issue just started happening to me. Looks like windows keeps trying to go back to whatever will match my default wallpaper, then wallpaper engine overrides it and it gets caught in this flickering cycle.

Yep, me too
It often prevents me from tabbing and delays it.
