Wallpaper audio plays on lockscreen [SOLVED]
I am using a video wallpaper that has audio for my desktop wallpaper, and want it to be set so that Wallpaper Engine automatically starts when I log in to my computer. However, it seems to actually start when I haven't even logged in yet, and am still in my computer's lock screen. Ideally, I'd rather it not play the audio until I have actually reached my desktop. I saw a Reddit thread where it was claimed that this only happens if High Priority is turned on, and that without High Priority it shouldn't start up until I get to my desktop. However, I have tried turning off High Priority, which I originally had on, and it still seemed to happen. Is there any solution to this?

This setting was on by default (at least for me), and it appears to make it so that if you shut down the computer without logging out of your account first, when you turn it back on it starts up the account you were just logged into before you actually log in, hence the audio being there. Once I disabled this Windows setting, it no longer plays the audio until I actually log in, even with high priority mode on actually!

What you found on Reddit is correct, if you disable the high priority option, Wallpaper Engine will only boot once your Windows user has logged in, so that does not really make much sense to me I am afraid. Did you fully restart your system or just quickly test this by locking Windows and unlocking it again?

Maybe also share the log file from our scan tool so that I can take a look at your full setup:

I did fully shut down and turn back on my computer after having disabled High Priority, but kept "Start with Windows" checked. I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but when I click my lock screen, it goes straight to a prompt to put in the password for my user account (I'm the only user to choose from)

Here is my log:

I should also mention that it wasn't immediate, but after sitting on my lock screen without having logged in for about 30 seconds or so, the audio did eventually show up

Can you please open the task manager and select the services tab? Then see if the "Wallpaper Engine Service" is completely gone. If high-priority is disabled, this service should not exist anymore.

Do you have other background applications that create tray icons? Are those icons immediately visible when logging in or only after a moment? Typically all programs in the task manager "startup" tab are only started by Windows after the lockscreen has been closed, this is also how Wallpaper Engine is started by Windows when high-priority is disabled.

I figured out what the problem was:

It turns out I had a Windows setting turned on in "Settings>Accounts>Sign-in Options" labeled "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device after an update or restart." This setting was on by default (at least for me), and it appears to make it so that if you shut down the computer without logging out of your account first, when you turn it back on it starts up the account you were just logged into before you actually log in, hence the audio being there. Once I disabled this Windows setting, it no longer plays the audio until I actually log in, even with high priority mode on actually!

(To clarify, the "Wallpaper Engine Service" in the services tab of the task manager was indeed not there when I had High Priority disabled, just like you said it should be. It reappeared when I re-enabled High Priority and vice versa, so all was as it should be in that regard)

Thanks for the help!
