But this is a very special Windows behavior that only very few programs use and it's not reliable. We don't know how to force Windows to fix this. It might be necessary to flush the icon cache of Windows or some other kind of cache, but there is too little information on the internet.
Typically this issue gets resolved by Windows eventually automatically, but like I explained, we don't know how to force Windows to resolve this yet and we have no personal contacts at Microsoft to ask about it or ask them to improve how well Windows supports this special case.
So it may be possible to fix this right now if you can figure out how to force Windows to work properly, but otherwise it should eventually resolve itself on its own.
It happens rarely but I think it can just happen at random too, however we never found any useful information about this or figured out why. If you manage to find an instant fix that works, that would be very good to know for sure. But if not, from what we know it will just resolve itself eventually when Windows does whatever kind of scheduled task cleans this up.
