Getting high cpu usage on some wallpapers
This only happened recently but certain wallpapers such as these, makes my cpu temps go very high 70°-75°.

I used to be able to use these wallpapers without the cpu temp going so high. I haven't really changed anything, I don't have razer synapse either.

I have a Ryzen 5 5600x

Please run our scan tool and share the log file it creates while using any of these wallpapers:

Thanks. Do you have this problem even when no other significant applications are running?

I.e. if you restart your system and don't start anything else manually, does the issue occur already or does it only occur after a while with some other programs open?

I tested it out. I loaded up the wallpaper that gives me high temps then restarted my pc.

it booted normally while still having the same wallpaper and my temperature is at 60°, higher than normal but not reaching 100% cpu usage temps.

I opened up wallpaper engine from the taskbar and the temp began increasing, but the temp went to 70° when I manually switched to the other wallpapers that gives high temps, and switching to the same wallpaper I booted up with also gives me high temps.

I didn't open any other significant application when I did this.

Thanks, could you also check the CPU usage for the wallpaper application instead of the temperature? This would be easier to understand than temperatures.

I.e. the process should be wallpaper32.exe or wallpaper64.exe. With any wallpaper from the OP, the CPU usage for this process should be next to zero. Could you check if this process is the source of the issue?

Very weird, could you try and uninstall Wallpaper Engine, then manually delete this folder on your computer:

E:\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine

Afterwards, restart your computer and reinstall the app. Does the problem persist now?
