FreeImage Decoding Failure

I'm trying to import a 9MB gif as a wallpaper (other gifs of similar sizes have worked) and it's giving me a "FreeImage Failed to Decode Image" error. What's the frame limit for gifs? The one I'm trying to get in is 107 frames.

What resolution does the GIF have? If the GIF is basically a video substitute, it would be better to convert it into a video. Wallpaper Engine unpacks GIFs completely so the CPU doesn't have to do work while it's running, but that means it needs memory to store the entire unpacked GIF. A video would just work indefinitely better if the GIF has a sizable resolution one way or another.

600x600px. I managed to finagle it down to the gif size limit for WE, though, so it all worked out in the end lol.
