"This Plugin is not supported" Flash wallpaper issue
I recently tried to make a SWF wallpaper through html, but keep getting the error "This Plugin is not supported" I followed old threads to download the PPAPI from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/, specifically "FP 32 for opera and chromium" Even after restarting the application and my computer, it still has this message.

I currently have the SWF file saved to a local directory with the html file in the same directory with this code:
<html><body leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" scroll="no"> <embed width="100%" height="100%" fullscreen="yes" src="file.swf"></body></html>
when I open this file in chrome, it says "click to enable adobe flash player" then runs in the browser just fine, but not as a wallpaper.

Are SWF backgrounds no longer possible? or is something wrong on my end?

We updated the integration for web wallpapers in Wallpaper Engine 1.3 to essentially the latest version of CEF (which is like Google Chrome). Since that has dropped support for Flash, it is no longer possible to use Flash in combination with Wallpaper Engine. For personal use, you can downgrade to Wallpaper Engine 1.2 by right-clicking on the app in Steam -> Properties -> BETAS -> Select the "Outdated 1.2" release from the list.

Keep in mind that even Adobe has announced the end of life for Flash in December 2020, so you really should not be using it anymore today unless you really need to:

https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/end-of-life.html#

Flash will completely stop functioning on January 1st 2021 across all browsers, so developing Flash content at this time is kind of a waste of time, though that's my personal opinion.
