Wallpaper paused on startup
I don't recall if this was an issue in the past, but whenever I start up my PC, the wallpaper seems to pause (not moving) until I focus or click on the desktop. I'm either assuming the issue is the latest Windows May 2020 update or maybe it's conflicting with other programs on startup.

Appreciate any clarification on the matter! Thanks!

It's very unlikely that it's related to the latest Windows update, we are using it ourselves and most people us it. It's more likely that you have some app that opens some invisible window at launch or something weird like that. Maybe run our scan tool and share the log file as described here, ignore the output of the log tool:

Geforce Experience Overlay
You have the Geforce Experience overlay enabled in Wallpaper Engine. This is almost never causing problems, but in rare cases it makes the mouse cursor lag or decreases general performance.

Disable it if you experience these issues.

RivaTuner
It looks like you have RivaTuner installed which could inject into Wallpaper Engine and cause the following issues:

- Wallpaper Engine may crash.

We recommend that you set RivaTuner to ignore Wallpaper Engine or try to close or uninstall it. Click on 'Open FAQ' below if you need any additional help.

Looks like it could be RivaTuner. I've had Geforce Overlay enabled for a while with no problems but i started using RivaTuner recently.

Sorry, I actually need the log file, can you first switch to the beta and then read the link above again?

Beta:

Make sure to click on the "Save Full Log" button, do not copy-paste the contents of the scan tool window.

That's actually my issue at first. I'm trying to save the log onto my desktop but the file never appears for me to share.

Try starting Wallpaper Engine once from Steam to ensure that the switch to the beta version is complete. The log should work there again, Steam is likely still starting the old version of the tool.

Thanks. Try to change the fullscreen playback rule to 'keep running' too so that they are all set to keep running - just for testing purposes.

If you restart now and the wallpaper is not paused, then there must really be some kind of fullscreen overlay. But if it's still paused even though all settings are set to 'keep running' then the issue must be unrelated to that.

Make sure to change the rule back after testing.

I've just restarted with both fullscreen playback rules and didn't pause at all >.> Nothing changed as far as applications. Maybe switching to beta did the trick?

That's rather unlikely, the beta mainly fixes the scan tool for now unless Biohazard has made some code changes that I am not aware of right now. Are the playback rules still set to "pause" for you then? Maybe just restart a few more times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Yeah i've restarted a couple times and i even changed other app maximized to pause and im not getting the pause on startup anymore. I'm embarrassed now ._. i can clearly recall having the wallpaper pause on startup several times.

Anyways i really appreciate the help Tim and Bio! Love WPE :-)

It could be because of Nvidia Share. If you continue to have this, make sure to turn that off.

Nvidia Share does have a fullscreen overlay. It's not known to cause this but that's the first thing I would try to turn off.
