If i want to open Wallpaper Engin, this window appear:

The log file donesn't work, my system say "than document are impossible to found" so i can't have the log file.

I don't know if this is the reason for the crash, but it looks like you are starting Wallpaper Engine incorrectly. Please close it completely and start it over Steam, that way it cannot start incorrectly anymore.

Thanks for making the screenshots. That's really strange, the error shows it's being launched from the 'distribution' directory, but this is not something that should be possible when the program is being started over Steam. Steam doesn't start it from there.

Can you please fully close the program from the tray menu and then manually delete this entire folder: D:\download\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine ? Please make a backup though if you want to keep your own projects. To make a backup of the projects, just copy this folder to a backup location: wallpaper_engine\projects\myprojects.

If there is something that can't be deleted, then that's likely because it's still running in some way. In that case try to find the file that can't be deleted in the task manager and close it, then try deleting it again.

After this please try a full reinstallation of Wallpaper Engine on Steam.

Does this same error with the 'distribution' directory show up even now?

Something fundamental in Windows is really broken, unfortunately.

Since you are also unable to create the log to help us see more about what's happening on the PC, it's very difficult to guess what could be wrong and how to fix it, besides reinstalling Windows.

- Do you have any anti-virus program installed besides Windows Defender? If you have something else installed, please try to uninstall that and restart the PC. Then try verifying the files of Wallpaper Engine over Steam and running it again.
- Do you have other games installed in D:/download/steamapps/common ? Are they running fine without issues from that drive?
- Try 'repair library folder' from here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2274-IFLV-5334&l=
- Can you try installing Wallpaper Engine to another Steam library like on C:/ to see if that makes any difference?

I don't think this will fix all issues, but you can try that, yeah. Somehow the programs files keep being messed up completely, there are a lot of totally random file issues in your errors. But it could also be that everything is just being severly blocked.

Without the log it's very difficult to judge right now.

Has Wallpaper Engine worked on this same PC before? I see that you have uploaded wallpapers before, so it must have worked. But was it on the same PC?

Were any Windows updates installed or other new programs before it stopped working?

I would recommend you try and use the Microsoft System File Checker tool and see if that helps:

We have never had any case like yours out of the millions of users so there must be some underlying problems in your Windows installation if basic things like that fail. Also please double-check you really don't have any intrusive antivirus / firewall / adware / internet accelerator software installed or any applications which possibly interfere with other applications. Try to re-install all important drivers.

Can you take a screenshot (or multiple screenshots if they dont fit) of all running processes in your Task Manager? I can have a look at that and see if I can spot anything that we know can cause problems but that's really the last idea I have on how we could potentially help you.
