Auto dimming?
At first I thought this was my Windows. Or maybe Nvidia messed up something. But the issue resolves upon closing the app. Any ideas?

The app never actively does anything like that, it's likely that some application on your PC notices that a hardware-accelerated app is launched and then dims the PC. Check your Windows power settings and any pre-installed applications that came with your computer, this could also be some "monitor optimization software" of some sorts. I cannot remember any other customers with this problem so I don't have any concrete suggestions, but if you figure it out, consider posting the solution in case other people google for this problem in the future.

Additionally, you can try our scan tool and post the log here, maybe I can see something suspicious in the log file:

Pretty sure it's the Windows 10 update.

No one else has reported any issues with the Windows 10 update and we have not seen any such issues on our local setups. Please post the log from our scan tool which I linked above.

Log is too long to post here.

You can post the log on pastebin like the instructions describe. Then you only need to post the link here.

Have you googled how to turn off 'dimming' in Windows 10 in general? https://www.google.de/search?q=windows+10+dimming It is not done by this program so there is no setting inside Wallpaper Engine or anything. There must be a generic dimming feature in Windows 10 then or somewhere else that is enabled and needs to be disabled there.

I did and tried all the solutions. I appreciate the help. The only other app I have is. Gigabyte App Center. But this happened right after an update. Kinda ruins Wallpaper Engine. As it adjusts the brightness. On how dark it is on screen. No matrix code background lol. But here.

Thanks.

Try reinstalling the Nvidia driver without installing Geforce Experience and also check the checkbox for a 'clean install'.

You also have Windows 10 Game DVR enabled. This is apparently also causing screen dimming for some people so you could try to disable that in Windows and see if that's the cause.

I do indeed have it enabled. I'll try it out.

That was not the issue. Still going on.

Have you removed Geforce Experience and also reinstalled the driver with stock settings?

Can you share a screenshot of the power menu in Windows while Wallpaper Engine is running please? This menu: https://static.makeuseof.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/enabled-adaptive-brightness.png

Preferably with all these brightness options expanded if you have them.

Also see this: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/860962/geforce-drivers/turn-off-auto-brightness-contrast-etc-/post/5920822/#5920822 On the Nvidia forums other users reported this. You could try asking them if they found a fix.

Well not to long ago. I did a full reset on the computer. So all was reinstalled. As for the forum it remains no solution.
Thanks for all the help though.

I checked the power settings and. Adaptive brightness is disabled. I seen talk of it being the TV. But as I said. This happened one day after restarting. I thought the format would fix it but I guess not.
