Wallpaper Engine

Wallpaper Engine

4k support
I can't open a 4k wallpaper from the Wallpaper engine Workshop.
I have Windows 10 and a 1920x1080 monitor.
4k wallpapers worked on my laptop.
Also, when the error occures, it says:
"Windows error occured c00d36c4 (The byte stream type of the given URL is unsupported.)."

Oh dxdiag yeah I can do that and the debug file. Can I just send the txt folder instead of pasting?

Thanks, well I have a few ideas what you could try. First, can you disable 'video audio output' in Wallpaper Engines options and try again?

Then could you close Wallpaper Engine and close all processes from Razer (the ones that start with Rz or Razer in the task manager) and then try opening the video in Wallpaper Engine again? Please note that you should restart the PC after testing this, to get Razer's processes back running, but I think it would be worth a shot.
Yeah I thought Razer could be a thing. Let me see
No I shut down everything from razer but nothing happens except the LAV icons popped up.

Can you change the default audio device in Windows to 'Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)' and then restart Wallpaper Engine again and try the video? (Of course not as a solution but just to try figure out what's wrong.)
Nothing changed, just Razer surround sound turned off.
Btw I'm pretty sure I installed Wallpaper Engine as the first thing on my computer (about 3-4 months old now). So it probably can't be any other program that could interfere with the Wallpaper Engine (tested the 4k video when I first installed the engine too).

Your hardware and the OS in itself also can't be the issue, I have almost the same setup myself and I know the stock video decoders support that resolution just fine... normally.

Have you tried the 64-bit version from Wallpaper Engine before? When you switch make sure that you close it over the tray icon or it will remain in 32-bit mode, it should show wallpaper64.exe in the task manager if it worked.
It shows 32-bit version (I can send to the gmail), and how do you close just the tray icon without quitting the engine?
I also tried running "wallpaper64" while Wallpaper engine was already running and it crashed, I can send a crash report too.

I sent it all now, hopefully it helps in any way.

I just worded it badly, but yeah just closing it all was what I meant. So I presume the 64-bit version also doesn't work as expected?

The crash looks like something in LAV going awry. Ideally you wouldn't even need LAV, hopefully you can go back to the default 'media foundation' later.
So I deleted LAV now and I also noticed now that with the 4k it's also 1920 x 1080, like in this background, unless it's just a wrong tag.

How would I be able to see the background if I were to quit the Wallpaper engine in the tray icon?

That last one is not a video, it is directly handled by Wallpaper Engine, that's why it's different.

But otherwise I guess I am just more confused now, this video does not work? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=887243128 It is just 1080p, yeah. And otherwise I cannot see anything special about it at all...
