Wallpaper freezes after using it for one second.

Hello,

so i just bought Wallpaper Engine and was scrolling through the workshop subscribing to around ten.
Obviously i looked at every single of them, after reselecting my favourite one the wallpaper just froze and thats it.
Every Wallpaper freezes, tried all settings and everything i read in other discussions about this topic.

Can you try to disable the overlay in 'Nahimic' or uninstall it completely?

Is it a Overlay?
I think thats one of my Audiodrivers for my Mainboard.
But yes i can try uninstalling / disabling it.

I don't really wanna uninstall it but disabling didn't help.

Could you try to change all playback options to 'keep running' in the settings?

If that fixes it, I think some invisible fullscreen window might be causing it to pause.

Ah okay. This means that the wallpaper will now also keep running while you play games, so it might affect performance. Currently I don't know any program that could create a window that causes this issue.

If you want to use the pause feature later, you could do this: http://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/1473095331509794520/ this would allow me to see which other programs are running and maybe I recognize something.

i know this thread is old but i seem to be getting the same thing and that fix doesn't work for me, the sheep one also does not even load at all, and the steam conflict scan doesn't bring anything up

I read the faq and cant seem to find anything either

Fullscreen overlays cause this, especially dimming programs that don't user proper color management but just overlay your whole desktop. As described in this thread, they are fullscreen programs and make the wallpaper pause, which is intended.

If you know which program is causing the issue, you can create an application rule to ignore the .exe from that program in Wallpaper Engine. Or just remove that program, especially a dimming program should use color management and not overlays.

all the playbacks are set to keep running and it stll aint going. i did try that before posting

If you choose the default 'neon sunset' background, does it display, but is paused or is it just black or some other color?

If it's the latter then the issue might be an outdated intel driver because that's from 2017 while your nvidia driver is from 2019. That makes them incompatible.
