Usually this means that something in your graphics card drivers is misconfigured causing the two GPUs you have not playing well together. I would recommend you start by doing a clean re-installation of the latest Nvidia drivers (important: make sure to check the "Perform clean re-installation" checkbox during setup):

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

If that does not work, please also do the same for the Intel drivers (you should uninstall the old ones first and clear all configuration settings if asked):

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/98909/Intel-HD-Graphics-630

Restart your computer afterwards, if that does not work, let me know.

I reintalled Nvida and did clean install also installed intel drivers. Rebooted my computer and DWM is still taking half of my GPU. Not sure why

Try changing this setting in the Nvidia Control Panel for wallpaper32.exe and wallpaper64.exe:

Set it to "Integrated graphics" and see if the problem goes away. You may need to reboot your system.

They are already set to Integrated graphics, They must have been put back when I cleaned installed

Can you try and see if anything changes if you set it to the dedicated GPU? Does DWM continue to use that many resources? Again, restart may be necessary.

I set it to the high performance restarted and booted up wallpaper and DWM still seems to be taking most of my GPU. Then i did the same but i switch it to Integrated restarted and no difference.

Okay, let's take a step back and see if there is even an issue in the first place. The Windows task manager does generally not report the correct GPU usage, we did a write-up of this issue here:

Try to download GPU-Z:

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Open it up, go to the "Sensors" tab and take two screenshots (one for each GPU, you can select the Intel / Nvidia GPU in the lower left corner).

That said, what you are describing is highly unusual, DWM should not be really used much at all and it's usually an indicator that there is something odd with your hardware or driver setup.

Happens to me too lately! All of the sudden. No new instals or anything. Today i turned out my PC and found something is odd. Disabling Walpaper engine solves the issue right away.

Please make a new thread or send us an email at support@wallpaperengine.io. This problem is always very specific to your hardware and software setup, there is no general answer to solving it and it's difficult to keep two conversations going at the same time in one thread.

Almost Soft locked my computer yesterday. after everything was happening i was checking to see if something was wrong with my computer and guess there was something. my anti-virus was not working and i was getting errors trying to use system file scan and DISM commands. Tried to system restore and worked for a min but then bluescreened and did not want to turn on again. So i just reinstalled windows but yet with all that DWM is still spiking. might have to reinstall apps.
