Wallpaper Sizing Problems
Certain workshop backgrounds (about half ofthe ones I've loaded) will have a smaller display size than my moniter. I have dual moniters and this happens on both. The wallpaper is fixed on the top right with about 1/3 of my screen not covered on the right and bottom. If I had a fullscreen background before loading the new one, that previous background will show in these areas. Oh, and if it helps, the not working backgrounds all turned out to have the type of web.

Hey,

Yes I have seen some web backgrounds that don't fit my resolution either, but to my knowledge it is an error in those wallpapers. You could ask the creators to make those wallpapers properly fit to any resolution.

I don't think that's the problem because not one web application works (I've downloaded around 20 from the top ratings list). I've also uploaded my own html files and opened urls using the software and none of those work either. :/

Exactly no, there's a HiDPI issue. HiDPI support will effect the Web wallpaper and WebM video wallpaper. In high resolution monitor, the system DPI setting will effect the Web wallpaper and WebM wallpaper size, it will just display "100%/your DPI percentage" top-left of the wallpaper. Yes, I've tested both. No problem when viedo wallpaper using other video formats and other formats excludes Web contents.

PS: Sorry, forgot to say that this issue would not happens when you just have one high resolution monitor but certainly happens when your environment is a high resolution and HiDPI monitor and another different resolution monitor. Multi Monitors will lead to this HiDPI issue.

If there was a edit scaling solution built into the properties wouldn't that fix this issue?

Thanks, that makes sense. :D Would there be any way to fix this in say the regedit dpi scaling setting?

I have noticed this error as well but only use one high resolution monitor. The problem is that this error only occured after a certain update. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix it? I would love to have a correctly-scaled web-wallpaper again....

The problem shouldn't exist anymore. Are you sure that it is not an issue with the wallpaper itself? Can you upload a screenshot?

My mistake, after further testing with other web-wallpapers it seemed that it only applied to one of my web-wallpapers <:) (Suggestions on how to fix it would still be appreciated though...)

P.s. a friend of mine tested the wallpaper and said it worked just fine. Therefore it seems to be neither the wallpaper nor wallpaper-engine. Any ideas what part of my computer could cause this error?
(Thanks in advance :) )

Could you put up a screenshot of the issue?

Is any of the content of the wallpaper depending on a specific resolution? The web wallpaper will basically just be scaled to fit the screen, does yours work if you go fullscreen in Chrome?
Cassidylla Feb 9, 2017 @ 10:09am
no...... it doesn´t seem to work fullscreen in chrome.... do you possibly know a way to fix it?
(Should I upload the screenshot to steam or somehow post it in this discussion?)
(Sorry, for all the trouble I´m pretty bad at this. >.< Thanks for your help though.)

You mean the tree and mansion are now zoomed in?

The problem is probably the img tag. If it should just cover the entire background, make sure it fills the entire page and set object-fit: cover (iirc).

Or use a div and a background image in the div with the size set to cover.

You´re the best developer I met this far :D ! I will try the suggestions you´ve given me. Thanks for your amazing help. :)
